Advert

This is our finished magazine advert for DanceGrenade. We used the same images and backdrop as the digipak--this created a brand/house style for the artists--this image would be linked to them as it is the same through all of there products. I think it manages to work for the digipak and the adverts as it doesn't really need to be changed too much to suit a different project. I think through careful thinking and plan--through sketches really helped us in creating a good advert as it wasn't just a 10 minute job, we worked hard in creating products that were really well thought out. I think the use of the images of the band members on the advert give the audience an idea of what they might buy into--give them an impression of what their music might be like and interest them in wanting to know more about them and the music. I think it also shows that they are proud of their music and they don't hide behind anything its just them. We used an internet program called "DaFont" to create the logo (title) we looked below the heading "sci fi" as these seemed pretty cool and edgy which is very similar to the band memebers themselves. We used the same font for the song title as well because it seemed very fitting and kept the magazine advert tidy. I also like the way we have used the same font from the digipak on the advert it partners in all the different elements to create a brand for DanceGrenade. When filming the band we took some photos of them in different positions so we had a lot to work with when it came to making the promotional material. The picture we used we felt ws the best image as it showed their true personality and it doesn't look too set up and framed, looks more antural if anything. We used Photoshop to edit ou the background so we would only have the band members in the picture. We also decided to include star reviews from music magazines, we thought this was another tool to enage the audience and attract them in wanting more--as they have seen good reviews from people who know the industry. We also decided to used a similar style of font to the tittle for this text as we wanted the whole piece to link in together well--so we used the colour white--again the same as the tittle. It looked really affective and it was a good addition to make to the advert. We also used lots of colours because we wanted to relate back to the song title "KormaChameleon" and as most people know Chameleons change colour to adapt to their surroundings, we wanted to portray this using bright colours to present the bands true personality and what they are about.
I am really pleased with the finished advert we created it works well with the digipak and the video, as we continue the same house style and theme of the video. We worked hard and produced something to be really proud of.
